​ننّھے فرشتے 

( A Poem On Child Labour Written By Me Years Ago / Presented To You On Labour Day 1st May, 2024. This Poem was also presented with English Translation At Ryerson University, Canada 🇨🇦 By A Pakistani Scholar Sana Nezam in 2019 On Child Labour Theme At An International Exhibition ).

                             

                                          کتنے معصوم ، کتنے سچّے ، کتنے پیارے 

                                               یہ ننّھے فرشتے تو ہیں راج دُلارے

                                       اِن کے ہاتھوں میں ہے اقوام کی تقدیر 

                                   اپنا لو ان بچّوں کو ، دے دو سپنوں کو تعبیر 

                                        جن ہاتھوں میں قلم اور کھلونے بھایئں

                                         وہی ہاتھ بچپن سے رزق کیوں کمایئں ؟ 

                             اِن ننّھے ہاتھوں سے اتنی مُشقّت کیُوں  کرائیں ؟

                               کہیں یہ پھُول وقت سے پہلے ہی نہ کملا جایئں 

                     وُہ سڑکوں پہ کُوڑا اُٹھاتے، پھُول بیچتے، گاڑیاں دھوتے

                دیکھے ہوں گے تم نے بھی کیئ معصُوم فُٹ پاتھ پہ سوتے

                                  چمن میں کوئی گل اپنی مرضی سے کھِلا کیا ؟

                            تو پھر اِن معصُوموں کو امیر غریب کی سزا کیا ؟

                                یہ بچّے  تو مانگیں تھوڑا سا پیار، تھوڑی چاہت

                                بدلے میں دے جایئں ، یہ ساری عُمر کی راحت 

                     ُ            کتنی انمول خُوشیاں دے جایئں یہ ننّھے فرشتے

                                      جیون کا حُسن ہیں  ناظؔر یہ ناطے ، یہ رِشتے

                                           کتنے معصوم ، کتنے سچّے ، کتنے پیارے 

                                                 یہ ننّھے فرشتے تو ہیں راج دُلارے

Little angles                         

How innocent , how straight & how cute are they !

So to say , they are apple of our eyes.

In their tiny hands does lie the fate of their nations!

 Hug them & help them materialise their dreams!

These tiny hands too like to write, and play !

Who sends them out in their tender age to earn !

Why do we have to take labour from these little angles?

These flowers might wither even before their blossom.

While picking trash, selling flowers, washing cars,

You must have seen them sleeping by the pavement. 

Has any flower ever blossomed by his own will?

Then why to punish these innocents for their poverty.

All these little angles want is a little love, a little care,

In return they give us the joy of our life !

These little angels do bless us with such an invaluable bliss beyond imagination!

Oh Naazir ! The very essence of our ties rests in our relationship with these budding flowers !
